The once-alluring myth of Coachella waned as I got older and began to realize that this California party scene was, in fact, pretty vapid. It became clear that, to most people, attending the shows was less about the music and more about making moves.

I love this new music video from Jared Leto’s band, which is sprinkled with candid interviews with some of Hollywood’s most interesting characters (Kanye, Lindsay, an apparently famous porn star, Ashley Olsen, etc.), not for the song–which is pretty awful–but for what it reveals about America.
