Today marks the one-year anniversary of Twenties Collective, perfectly timed with the holidays in full swing and a new year right around the corner. This time last year I was in a much different place: at the tail-end of my recovery from an eating disorder with a few more months of vital weight gain to go, feeling quite lost and unsure of myself, and looking for a much needed outlet. Having always loved writing, my eating disorder had seemingly abolished my passion for it, but with this blog I finally decided to revisit it, and I’m so glad I did.
I didn’t expect the site to gain as much traction as it did, or to garner the attention of such a diverse group of people. The best part of this year for me has certainly been all of the kind words received about the blog from people old and young, male and female–whether they fall under the categories of textbook ‘cool,’ uber intellectual, super jock-y, or all three combined. As I’ve written before, all of your support means more to me than I can properly sum up with words, so thank you so, so much.
I now have bigger plans for the site and hope to expand its horizons, so I hope you’ll all keep reading and watching to see how it grows. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome, so please don’t hesitate to comment or shoot me an e-mail about what you like or don’t like. Have a wonderful winter break and an epic New Year!
